The question has been certified as genuine, numbered for reference, and placed between the water office and the public lavatories.

OTHER MATTERS REQUIRING YOUR UNDIVIDED DISBELIEF

Commerce & improbable enterprise

The posts promise no legal certainty, but their underground colour has become a reliable occasion for bread, inspection and renewed argument.

Public notices

The measure is intended to prevent accidental conclusions, though residents remain unclear whether a question may be shared between households.

Corrections

Correction: sovereignty was leased, not delivered

Our previous report described March & Crown’s service as portable sovereignty. The firm supplied flags, ledgers, stamps and explanations, but no army, crown or enforceable agreement to defend the customer. The distinction matters to towns now attempting to cancel their subscriptions. The service remains paperwork, as originally reported.

Classifications

Certified Unresolved Boundary

The Bureau of Certainty has classified a boundary supported by competing records but not by an accepted conclusion as a Certified Unresolved Boundary. The category permits tax collection, bread pricing and controlled inspection while postponing responsibility for drainage. The Registry of Unresolved Matters may issue the certificate; the March & Crown Exchange may sell the post, but neither may move it without creating a new question.

Commercial Reconciliation Fixture

A boundary post rented for the purpose of producing a purple underside, shared bread and a manageable number of witnesses is now a Commercial Reconciliation Fixture. It is decorative infrastructure until uncovered, customary infrastructure during the ceremony, and disputed evidence afterward. Berry paste does not qualify, although it may qualify as lunch.

From the registers

The Autumn Question Table

On the first market day of autumn, households near an unresolved boundary place one written question beside the bread intended for sharing across the line. The question is read aloud before the post is exposed and is not answered during the meal. Registry clerks record the wording, while Society volunteers ensure that no one is made to eat on the wrong side of an argument.

The Six-Inch District

A narrow strip of disputed ground beside the old boundary road, containing a bakery counter, a drainage ditch and a bench claimed by two districts. Its exact width is six inches according to the municipal ledger and considerably more according to the residents who use it. Tax collectors visit with numbered questions and leave with bread whenever available.
